TITLE: DIGITAL MARKETING STRATEGIST (DMS)

REPORTS TO: DIRECTOR OF DIGITAL MARKETING (DDM)

RANKING: SALARIED/EXEMPT

ROLE:

The Digital Marketing Strategist (DMS) reports to the Director of Digital Marketing (DDM) and works within the Digital Marketing Team alongside other strategists and project managers. The DMS works with all areas of Masterworks, including Creative Services, Account Services, Marketing Intelligence, Innovation Services and Administration.

The DMS is assigned to a number of clients to serve as a part of the Account Services teams for those clients (alongside the Account Manger (AM), Account Executive (AE) and Account Director (AD). Additionally the DMS may work with any client to provide a specialized set of skills and expertise.

Each DMS brings a set of specialized skills to the team. Those specialized skills are in unique combination for each DMS – some excel in Information Architecture (IA), some in technology, while others in Search Engine Marketing (SEM), Usability, Social Media, Analytics, Mobile, and so on.

The DMS is responsible for client digital strategy alongside the AE, driving both results for the client as well as Digital Marketing revenue growth for Masterworks.

For standard Digital Marketing projects such as emails, landing pages, banner advertising, etc., the AE takes the lead with support from the DMS. However, on specialized Digital Marketing projects such as website development, strategy creation, etc., the DMS takes the lead.

The DMS is also expected to be a champion for Digital Marketing throughout Masterworks and the industry – sharing knowledge formally and informally (via blog, email, speaking and so on), identifying potential in others and otherwise positively influencing the culture of Masterworks towards the future of Digital Marketing.

REQUIREMENTS:

1. Minimum three years of previous experience in an Internet marketing capacity – direct experience with nonprofit marketing and fundraising a major plus.

2. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail in an environment that requires regular evaluation and negotiation of priorities.

3. Strong customer service, interpersonal and communication skills – the ability to interact with many different people, internally and externally.

4. Teachable, and a constant learner – reads industry blogs, books, etc., and desires to dive in to learn and shape their role.

5. Understands how to present meaningful results and build basic reports.

6. Proficiency in computer use as an advanced user of both desktop and web-based software as appropriate to functions performed at Masterwork

7. Ability to work under pressure and with limited direction, at peak performance.

8. Command of grammar and language sufficient to create professional documents.

9. Strong team player and a positive attitude.

 

PERFORMANCE STANDARDS:

1. Growth in Digital Marketing revenue from assigned clients and projects.

2. Digital Marketing projects are completed efficiently, effectively and profitably.

3. Demonstrates strong teamwork and relationship skills with the Digital Marketing team, other departments and vendors/freelancers.

4. Regularly finds new or unique ways to contribute to overall Digital Marketing.
