Alliance Defense Fund (ADF) is a legal alliance that works tirelessly to defend religious liberties including the sanctity of human life, the right to hear and speak the truth and, marriage and the family. Empowerment is central to ADF’s ministry. They use the majority of their resources to train Christian attorneys and fund legal action in precedent-setting cases. ADF’s network of attorneys will pursue direct litigation on especially important issues.
Back to God Ministries International is the electronic media ministry of the Christian Reformed Church in North America. They proclaim the story of God’s unfailing love worldwide so that lives and communities will be transformed. Each month they communicate with an average of 125,000 people, providing them with Bible study materials, prayer support and other tools to build their faith.
Back to the Bible is a worldwide Christian ministry committed to reaching unbelievers with the Gospel message and leading them into a relationship with Jesus Christ. They utilize radio, TV, the Internet and other media to reach unbelievers and also assist Christians to mature in their spiritual growth. The ministry broadcasts in more than 14 languages and reaches millions on the Internet teaching the Word and touching the world. Campus Crusade for Christ International works to fulfill the Great Commission by winning people to faith in Jesus Christ, building them up in their faith and sending them on to win and build up others in the Lord. Care Net and its network of more than 1,100 pregnancy centers serves women struggling with unplanned pregnancies. Through pregnancy tests, ultrasounds, abortion information, material assistance and parenting classes, women learn alternatives to ending their unborn baby’s life. They focus on preparing, equipping and starting new pregnancy centers. Care Net also runs Option Line, a call center and website that has given hope to more than 1 million women in crisis since 2003.
Family Advocacy. Those two words are a perfect description of CitizenLink encourages concerned Americans to make their voice heard on social policy, the sanctity of human life, the preservation of religious liberties, and the well-being of the family.
CityTeam is motivated by Christ’s example to transform individuals, their families and communities around the world by serving the poor and homeless. The Gospel is at the core of their work. Only Jesus makes real change possible. They share Christ with hurting men, women and children by providing food, clothing, recovery programs, discipleship and much more. CityTeam is changing lives in five U.S. cities and 30 countries around the world.
Dakota Boys and Girls Ranch helps at-risk children and their families succeed in the name of Christ. They care for children with behavioral and developmental challenges in residential treatment and outreach centers across North Dakota. Children’s lives are transformed through integrated treatment programs that include horse therapy, mentoring, psychiatric treatment and spiritual life programs.
Focus on the Family exists to help families thrive. They accomplish this by nurturing and defending the God-ordained institution of the family and by promoting biblical truths. Focus on the Family has been working with families in every stage of life for more than 30 years. Their daily radio broadcasts reach 220 million listeners in 150 countries with sound and practical counsel for families.
Food for the Hungry helps overcome human poverty by walking alongside the poor as equals –– encouraging and empowering them to solve their own problems. Based in Phoenix, AZ, they help men, women and children in 18 countries through emergency relief, microfinance, hygiene education, agriculture/job training, literacy education and child sponsorship. This intentional walk with the poor mirrors God’s walk with each of us, recognizing our own brokenness and His transforming grace that brings out our God-given potential.
GAiN helps people and communities around the world recover from pain and suffering. They work to transform communities by demonstrating the love of God through both word and deed to hurting and needy people. GAiN focuses on providing people with the essentials: food, water, critical care, community care and God’s love. They are careful to work in partnership with existing ministries, churches and agencies in each of the 30 countries where they distribute aid and share the Gospel.
Gospel for Asia shares the Good News with people who don’t know Jesus. But that’s not all. They work to improve the life of men and women living in poverty through emergency food and care efforts, literacy programs and medical care. They achieve these goals by training and sending national missionaries to serve in their home countries across Asia.
Holt International’s ultimate goal is to place each orphaned, abandoned or relinquished child into a safe and permanent home of their own. Instead of finding the right child for families who wish to adopt, Holt focuses on finding the right family for each child in their care. Since 1956 Holt has been the recognized leader in international adoption and now serves children and families in 12 countries through temporary foster care, child welfare programs, advocacy and post-adoption services.
Jews for Jesus exists to convince Jewish people worldwide that Jesus is indeed the Messiah. They use proven techniques such as street evangelism, drama and tracts as well as social media channels like Facebook, Twitter and SecondLife to share the Gospel with Jewish people in eight U.S. cities and nine countries around the world. Although Jews for Jesus specializes in sharing the Good News with Jewish people they have introduced many other nations to the Messiah, Jesus Christ, as well.
Josh McDowell has been bringing the Good News of Jesus Christ to people across the world for more than 4 decades. Josh has a unique ability to connect with audiences as diverse as college students, parents and people living in countries in the Middle East. Josh helps thousands of people grow in their faith each year by providing biblical teaching on sexuality, parenting and apologetics.
Orphaned and abandoned children are struggling to survive all around the world. Kids Alive rescues these boys and girls from a future of pain and hopelessness The core of their unique ministry model centers around providing 24/7 care for children in residential homes. Each child lives with loving, Christian house parents and their “brothers and sisters.” But that’s not all, Kids Alive also operates schools, care centers, medical clinics and microfinance programs in communities around the world.
Recovery through the power of Christ — that’s Knox Area Rescue Mission's (KARM) guiding approach. KARM believes that multiple organizations can accomplish more working together than one can working alone. They work with nearly a dozen other organizations in Knoxville, TN, to help the homeless, unemployed and poor. Two of the most effective community partnerships they’ve developed are Clean Start and Abundant Life Kitchen that provide job training to help people transition back into society and become productive citizens once again.
Military Ministry’s privilege to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with military men and women, veterans and military families. Their ministries, resources, and partnerships are all based on the belief that faith makes a difference in the lives of those in harm’s way — those who have answered the call toserve their nations and live with the special conditions and stresses of military life, whether on the front lines or on the home front, whether before, during, or after deployments into combat. Their mission is to win, build and send in the power of the Holy Spirit and to establish movements of spiritual multiplication in the worldwide military community.
Orange County Rescue Ministries shares God’s love with “the Least, the Last and the Lost.” So often the homeless and poor in Southern California are forgotten and ignored, but Orange County Rescue Ministries believes that this isn’t acceptable. They help men and women living on the margin of society to get back on their feet through counseling, education, job training, shelter, food, clothing, healthcare and independent living communities.
Permanent independence built on a relationship with Christ. Orlando Union Rescue Mission (OURM) believes that the truest representation of God’s love is not just providing a meal but giving someone the opportunity for a new start through the power of the Gospel. OURM provides broader shelter services than a typical rescue mission with shelters for not just men, women and children but also for families with teenagers. Prison Fellowship restores communities by sharing the Gospel with the forgotten millions living behind bars. It was founded by Charles Colson in 1976, soon after his release from prison for his role in the Watergate scandal. By transforming the hearts of prisoners and their families with the Gospel and helping them to practically succeed after their release, Prison Fellowship is breaking a vicious cycle in which two of three prisoners find themselves back in prison within three years of their release.
Since 1962, the Sacramento Union Gospel Mission has provided food, clothing, shelter and a life-changing Gospel message to the homeless of Sacramento. They serve more than 6,000 meals monthly to hungry men, women and children. Every night, they offer more than 80 men a warm, safe place to sleep. Each year, they distribute more than 28,000 items of clothing. Nightly nondenominational services and volunteer outreach programs provide support for those who rarely hear an encouraging word. Men who are inspired to make a real change in their lives can take advantage of a free, nine-month drug and alcohol rehabilitation program, complete with transitional housing, job placement and follow-up counseling.
San Diego Rescue Mission exists to spread the Good News of salvation through Christ by serving the needs of the poor, addicted, abused and homeless. Working with the people of San Diego County, they provide emergency shelter, residential recovery programs, a recuperative care unit and an outpatient clinic. One of San Diego Rescue Mission's most successful programs is their thrift shops. Clients work at these stores to learn job skills. Seattle's Union Gospel Mission (UGM) serves, rescues and transforms those in greatest need through the grace of Jesus Christ. It is the largest and oldest mission in Seattle and the only one to serve the urban homeless population three meals each and every day. Seattle’s UGM has a truly holistic approach to community transformation. It provides the typical rescue mission services like meals, shelter and addiction treatment, but that’s not all. They also invest in those in need through job-skills training, youth outreach (including a boxing program), legal services, life-skills training and jail ministry. That’s why Walk Thu the Bible creates seminar events, print publications, devotional materials, small groups, and online resources to reveal God’s love to people in a way that they will understand.
Each day 8,000 children die from hunger-related causes. But it doesn’t have to be this way. World Vision’s 30 Hour Famine opens high school and junior high students’ eyes to global hunger and empowers them to save lives by raising money and going without food for 30 hours. The Famine has been the leading way for youth around the United States to fight global hunger for the last 20 years. |
