Lenz Geerk

Lenz Geerk was born on 18 October 1988 in Basel, Switzerland, and lives and works in Dusseldorf, Germany. He studied painting at the Kunstakademie Dusseldorf from 2008 to 2013, in the classes of Siegfried Anzinger and Lucie McKenzie. Sources describe him variously as a Swiss-born painter and, especially in gallery texts, as "a German painter," a reflection of his Swiss birth and long career base in Germany rather than a settled single nationality.

His early solo exhibitions were with Anna Klinkhammer Galerie in Dusseldorf, starting with Fruhlings Erwachen in 2011 and Teenage Angst in 2012, alongside institutional group shows in Cologne, Paris, and Hagen.
