Maysha Mohamedi

Maysha Mohamedi was born in 1980 in Los Angeles and raised in San Luis Obispo, California. She earned a BS in cognitive science, with a specialization in neuroscience, from the University of California, San Diego in 2002, before turning to painting. She later completed an MFA in painting at the California College of the Arts in San Francisco in 2011, though gallery texts describe her as substantially self-taught as a painter. She lives and works in Los Angeles, with a studio in the Bendix Building in downtown Los Angeles.

Her exhibition history through the 2010s ran through Los Angeles and Bay Area spaces, including The Lodge (2018), Gallery 16 in San Francisco (2019), and Left Field Gallery, alongside solo shows at Nicelle Beauchene Gallery and Halsey McKay Gallery in 2020.
