Sam Cox was born in 1994 in Dartford, Kent, England, and is closely associated with Kent, where he grew up and now lives, in and around St Michaels and Tenterden. As a teenager at Homewood secondary school he studied Art, Graphic Design, and Photography, and has said a teacher there, Morgan Davies, encouraged his doodling and arranged an early gallery showing.
