Mübin Orhon

Mübin Orhon was born in 1924 in Istanbul; the exact day and month are not confirmed in the sources consulted. He graduated from a German-language Istanbul high school and then from Ankara University's Faculty of Political Sciences in 1947. In 1948 he moved to Paris intending to pursue further graduate study in economics or political science, described in various sources as either a master's degree or a doctorate, though no source confirms he completed it. He instead turned toward art, taking drawing classes at the Académie de la Grande Chaumière until about 1954.

Orhon took part in group exhibitions in Paris, including the Salon des Réalités Nouvelles, during the 1950s, and held a solo exhibition at Galerie Iris Clert, Paris; the exact year of that show is not confirmed in the sources consulted.
