Nairy Baghramian

Nairy Baghramian was born in 1971 in Isfahan, Iran, to an Armenian family. Sources place her family's move to Berlin in the mid-1980s, with some accounts citing 1984 and others 1985; she has lived and worked in the city since then. She is reported to have studied at the Universitat der Kunste Berlin; some biographies add the Freie Universitat Berlin and Goldsmiths College, University of London, though that broader account is not consistently confirmed across sources, and the exact degrees and years of study are not documented in public sources.

Baghramian works primarily in sculpture and installation, using industrial and everyday materials, including latex, aluminum, resin, and marble, to build modular, body-scaled forms that probe the boundary between interior and exterior, support and object.
