Risk's family moved to Los Angeles in 1983, when he enrolled at University High School at age sixteen. He began writing graffiti on Los Angeles freeway overpasses and is credited as one of the first artists to paint full color pieces and productions on the freeway, a body of work later described as helping start the Los Angeles freeway graffiti movement. He founded the crew Prime Crime Artists and helped start West Coast Artists (WCA).
