Showichi Kaneda

Showichi Kaneda was born in Kyoto, Japan, in 1970. In 1994 he spent a year as an exchange student in the Animation Department at the Royal College of Art in London. He returned to Japan to complete a master's degree in painting, specializing in oil painting, at the Kyoto City University of Arts Graduate School of Fine Arts in 1995. He has been based in Kyoto since, and has taught oil painting in the painting department at Kyoto City University of Arts since 2009.
