Stanley Donwood

Born on 29 October 1968 in Essex, England, Donwood completed an Art Foundation year at North Essex College of Art in 1987 before studying Fine Art at Exeter College of Art, part of the University of Exeter, from 1988 to 1991. It was at Exeter that he met Thom Yorke, the future Radiohead singer. Donwood adopted the pseudonym Stanley Donwood for his art practice, keeping his given name, Dan Rickwood, separate from his work.

His collaboration with Radiohead began in 1994, when Yorke asked him to contribute artwork for the "My Iron Lung" EP. He has since created the cover art, packaging, and promotional imagery for every Radiohead studio album, and has continued the partnership on Thom Yorke's solo and side projects, including Atoms for Peace and the album Anima. Since 2002 he has also served as the official artist of Glastonbury Festival.
