Vaughn Spann

Vaughn Spann was born in 1992 in Orlando, Florida. He earned a BFA from Rutgers University in Newark in 2014, then an MFA in Painting and Printmaking from the Yale School of Art in 2018. In 2019 he completed the NXTHVN residency in New Haven, a program founded by the artist Titus Kaphar to support emerging artists of color, an experience frequently cited alongside his rapid early visibility at institutions such as the Rubell Museum and Almine Rech.
