Wang Yin

Wang Yin was born in 1964 in Jinan, Shandong Province, and grew up in Qingdao before moving to Beijing. He graduated in 1988 from the Department of Stage Design at the Central Academy of Drama.

Around 1990 Wang Yin began working as an artist in the Yuanmingyuan artist village on the outskirts of Beijing, one of the informal communities that incubated much of China's early contemporary art scene. In 1998 he established a studio in Songzhuang, another Beijing-area artist district, where he has continued to live and work. He is represented by Vitamin Creative Space, which lists recent solo presentations including Wang Yin: Mother and Child 2023 at Mirrored Gardens, Guangzhou, and Wang Yin: Fragrant at DRC No.12, Beijing, in 2025.
